Mark May Villas & Renovation, based in Tirau, was founded by Mark May in 1983. The company first traded as May Builders and then May Build before being rebranded as Mark May Villas & Renovation to reflect the focus on villa and bungalow renovation and restoration. Mark brings 4 decades as a qualified Master Builder to the table and employs a team of equally experienced, traditional craftsmen.

Mark’s son Hadleigh joined the company in 2016. He shares Mark’s values and dedication, is hands-on, and highly skilled in project management and all aspects of the building and renovation trade. They are absolute specialists in quality machinery, wooden joinery and carpentry, and have worked on many interesting villa builds and restoration projects together, in the Waikato and beyond.

One of the most memorable projects was a complete restoration of a 100-year-old villa. The villa was stripped back to its bare bones and rebuilt using swamp kauri while also adding a second story. In recognition of this accomplishment, Mark May Villas was awarded the esteemed Waikato Master Builders Life Members Craftsmanship Award.
